How It Works

The Referral Process, Step by Step

1

Call or Email Us

Contact our referral coordinator by phone or email. For urgent cases, call directly — we prioritize same-day or next-day appointments for acute neurological and surgical emergencies.

2

Send Patient Records

Email or fax prior diagnostics, bloodwork, imaging, and clinical notes. The more context we have, the better we can prepare for your patient's consultation.

3

We Schedule & Confirm

Our team contacts the client directly to schedule and confirm the appointment. We keep you informed every step of the way.

4

Consultation & Surgery

Your patient is evaluated by our board-certified specialist. If surgery is recommended, we discuss the plan with the client and proceed at the appropriate time.

5

Report Within 24 Hours

A detailed surgical or consultation report is sent to your practice within 24 hours of discharge — keeping you fully in the loop.

6

Ongoing Collaboration

We return the patient to your care for long-term management. We're always available for follow-up questions and case discussions.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I submit a referral?

Call our referral line at (479) 553-9890 or email records to [email protected]. You can also fax records to (479)-555-XXXX. Our coordinator will reach out to your client within 1 business day.

What information should I send with the referral?

Please include a referral letter or SOAP note, prior bloodwork, laboratory results, imaging (X-rays, ultrasound, MRI/CT if available), and any relevant history. The more detail, the better we can prepare.

How quickly can you see urgent cases?

For acute neurological emergencies (e.g., acute paralysis, suspected disc herniation), fractures, and GI emergencies, we aim to schedule same-day or next-day. Please call us directly for these cases.

Will you send me a report after the visit?

Yes — always. A full consultation or surgical report is sent to your practice within 24 hours of the appointment or discharge. We also call to discuss each case with the referring veterinarian.

Do you accept all species?

We primarily see dogs and cats. Please contact us to discuss exotic or other species on a case-by-case basis.

Can I call to discuss a case before referring?

Absolutely. We encourage pre-referral case discussions. Call our main line and ask to speak with the on-call specialist — we're happy to help you triage and plan. We also are happy to review and diagnostic imaging results and call you with an opinion within 1 business day.

Ready to refer your patient?

Our referral coordinator is standing by. Call, fax, or email — we'll take it from there.
